Goodbye Wisconsin, Hello Paradise.

 Author's Note- Vacations can be very exciting and fun, but it's the memories that go on forever.

Throughout my life I've been on many vacations and trips. Most of them have been with my family, but I've been on trips with friends too. Either way there fun and exciting to look forward to. The beautiful ocean view from your balcony, or maybe a wild roller coaster that whips you around until you puke. Or maybe you prefer the water droplets splashing on your face from the famous Niagara Falls. I always look forward to my vacations, especially  my trip to Florida that I'm taking this Christmas.

My First Game

Authors Note- I still remember the first game I ever played, and I hope I continue to play through high school.
Dribbling, passing, and shooting are all part of the sport, soccer. Many people prefer to use their hands in sports, but I like to be an oddball and use my feet. I still remember my first soccer game I ever played. It was in 4th grade, and our team name was Magic. My friend Skyler was dribbling the ball next to me. We were on offense and were going up for the goal. Each trembling step was an inch closer to the victory! She tripped and fell right before the goal. I looked down and thought to myself, I guess it’s my turn to score. So I took the ball and my mind shouted SHOOT! I planted my foot on the ground and swung. I took a corner shot, and it hit the net! I scored, in my first game. Ever since, I’ve felt passionate about this sport. Til this day, I play soccer and am on a wreck team. One day when I work hard enough, I’ll be on select again.

The Blizzard on Main St.

Burr! I shiver just looking out the window, as the snow drifts through the winter air. My mom walks past my room; I yell “do we have school?” She stops in her tracks and walks back to my door. She smiles and says not today! I lit up with joy and suddenly wasn’t tired anymore. I jumped out of the bed and grabbed my phone. The first person I texted was my best friend, Layla. Later, she came over and we watched Christmas movies all day. As we snuggled with my cats, we carefully sipped out hot chocolate. I never wanted this day to end! Even though I knew by tomorrow the streets would be cleared and it was back to the books! We giggled the whole day and before you knew it, it was dark out. Layla got picked up, and I thought to myself… I love snow days!

Christmas Cookies

Authors Note- This poem is about delicious cookies that you eat at Christmas time.

Christmas cookies are so sweet,
Snicker doodles, peanut butter, and chocolate chip;
They sizzle in the ovens’ heat.

Every heavenly bite is a taste of joy,
With frosting or sprinkles;
It’s even better than a new toy.

I scarf them down on Christmas Eve,
Big or small;
Better than any kiss under the mistletoe I shall receive.
